So, it seems I have lost my blogging mojo. Yep, I am struggling to write a blog post and I just used the word mojo.
I am even struggling to write an Instagram caption or think of damn hashtags to use! What’s the point? Apparently I am ‘shadow banned’? #fuckyouinstagram
What I don’t understand is, I have all these ideas in my head, especially when I am in the shower or driving, and I really want to share them with you all, but I just can’t find the words to type.
So I get frustrated and shut my laptop and get mad at myself and give up.
Apparently, this is called writer’s block? Am I the only one guessing not?
If you haven’t noticed the monogramming trend over the last 2 years, you’ve definitely been living under a rock. Think The Daily Edited, Mon Purse; even Peter Alexander and Cotton On are on the personalised wagon! Now you know what I’m talking about, surely you’ve seen it on your Instagram feed.?
Uncle Jack watches follow on with this trend being the first brand in the watch industry to offer monogramming. I really am a sucker for anything personalised, but as I am not going to be a ‘Hassan’ forever, I usually choose ZM (M being my partners name). I love that I can look down and see our initials. I am such a cutie, hey!
I am so excited and a little nervous to share this post with you all. I had the opportunity to try out Lipo Freeze at Smart Skin Clinics Coolaroo.
I have my own body demons like many. I have always hated my thighs. I have always been more bottom heavy. My thighs have made me cry. I don’t wear jeans because I feel like I look so big in them. I literally live in leggings and wear the occasional ‘jegging’ but still feel so self-conscious.
I had the pleasure of attending the @nextofficial_au runway with my fabulous girlfriends. Let’s just say a delivery stuff up caused me to just throw anything on (yep a jumper, skirt, glasses, and ‘party shoes’ Voila #sofashion #whatthefuckamiwearing
As many of you know I attended the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival this year. You would have already seen all the amazing street style outfits, all you favourite celebrities/socialites in only the best, along with all the wardrobe envy outfits on the runway.
Last year I was kindly gifted a pack of household care items from Modere.
Modere stocks all the goods us ladies love, from haircare, skincare, makeup to protein bars and even probiotic support. Let’s not forget our men ladies.. there is even items for the lads, dads and brothers in our lives. How did I come across this company? #instagram. So what was in my gift pack?
Yesterday I had my first ever express microdermabrasion at my local Laser Clinics Australia. I was really looking forward to this treatment as I have heard nothing but good things about it.
So it’s that time of the year again where Melbourne’s finest come out to play! Who’s excited for Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival? I sure am! Ever since I was a little volunteer at the festival I just feel in love with the entire event.
I had the pleasure of interviewing the stunning Candice Warner. For those who don’t know Candice is mother to two little angles, an athlete and wife to cricketing legend David Warner. While Candice is always on every red carpet guest list. Candice is a self-confessed ‘faux-cialiser’… who would rather enjoy a night in indulging in a Connoisseur choc mousse then a star-studded event… now I know your all thinking what is a faux-cialiser? Find out below.
After being super jealous of all the gorgeous selfies being posted on my Instagram feed of ladies and gents applying the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Masks it was time for me to put this little pot of genius to the test!
I was kindly gifted the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Mask – Detoxifying + Brightening Charcoal Mask. I could not wait to apply this to my face. I simply used a foundation brush to basically paint my face. The texture was not as thick as I thought it would be and rather smooth and refreshing.
As much as I would have loved to add more Valentines day content to my blog this is just gonna have to do.
February 14th has come around so quick! I thought I would make some ‘cliched’ heart cookies that I found on the Donna Hay website.
Feeling pretty special to be featured on Hey, it’s Chel – a lifestyle and travel blog maintained by Chel Inumerable. Find out what I am getting up to this Valentines Day here lovelies.
I was pretty excited when the lovely people at Blys pronounced ‘bliss’ contacted me to have a complimentary massage to feature on my blog.. how could any blogger say no to that? #theperkshey.
It has been around 5-6 years since I’ve shamelessly had my last massage. It’s not that I don’t enjoy a massage. I am always gifting friends and family members a pamper session, yet I won’t book myself one!
When it comes to styling a home I am no pro. It’s bloody hard work. I am three months into styling our first home and I just feel like so much is missing! I don’t know what to buy, what goes with what, do I want some colour? I am pretty lost at the moment but I am so lucky to have some expert help.
It’s an honour to have Christie Turvey from NEUE BLVD shares her top Tips and Tricks to make your space instantly stylish and chic.
After seeing Nadia Bartel in the Mirelle Dress by Misha Collection I just feel in love with the detailing of the dress, the gold tones along with the length and not to mention convenient arm straps. My arms might be thin but they are getting cellulite on them (joys hey) as I have no boobs I just look broad in anything strapless (the off the shoulder trend is truly a blessing for my broad sisters out there).
With the beautiful Souha. Thanks for the invite Racheal, Cassette Communications.
If you follow my blog, you would know I have just moved into my new home. Prior to this move, I was living with my mum. Basically, she did everything for me for the last 28 years. I’m talking cleaning, cooking, picking my clothes up off my floor-drobe, and of course, the dreaded ironing.
I might not be a mummy blogger, but I am a proud aunty to two little legends, Aydin and Leyla. When it comes to kids fashion, there is so much variety these days – compared to when I was a little youngster at least!
Kids are so expressive, from their clothing to their haircuts. Kids fashion is really on point now, and a lot of mothers I have spoken to have told me their kids are choosing their own style nowadays!
I love that kids are finding their own visual identity, and playing around with fashion from such a young age. Just recently, I was having a conversation with my mum about how I used to be so depressed (maybe a little dramatic) when she was still dressing me in grade 6 – I felt like such a loser walking around with a side part, velvet skirt and top and ‘party shoes’ with white socks. Thank goodness social media wasn’t around back then!
I have received my fair share of flowers from my fiancé over the last 5 years. He sure spoils me in the floral department! There is nothing more special than receiving a beautiful bunch of flowers – you’re the envy of all your office pals, and of course you get an epic Instagram shot.
I love sending my friends and mama a bunch of flowers on their birthdays, or just randomly to brighten their day. It’s the little things, y’know?
Buying a designer bag on a minimum wage is hard work, ladies! I am very grateful to have some great investment pieces in my wardrobe. After all, they’re timeless. Cossette is a private, members-only shopping destination, founded two years ago by the lovely France. I caught up with her to find out all about how she began her online and pop-up designer bag stores.
I get a lot of emails from lovely ladies asking me how I started my blog, how I get ‘free stuff’ and how I get invited to events.
A few in particular have come across quite bitchy, if I’m honest. Asking me why or how I am getting invited to events, or why I am getting sent items to promote isn’t really the way to go about it.
I think some people need to ask themselves why they’re not getting invited? Why they’re not getting sent products to review? An ugly attitude in this industry won’t get you far, unfortunately.
I unfortunately couldn’t attend this weeks event held in Sydney due to work commitments…. enter sad receptionist face here! But I had the pleasure of interviewing the beautiful Laura Dundovic enjoy my short Q&A below:
I had the pleasure of interviewing Hande Kurtulus who has just just brought Kismet by Milka to Australia for all you lucky ladies who are obsessed with statement jewellery, including myself. The likes of Madonna, Margot Robbie, Nikki Minaj, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bella Hadid (Just to name a few) have been seen in this amazing company’s jewellery. The line feature chokers, statement earrings, and necklaces along with my favourite, the initial ring. Secretly hoping Santa brings me a Z ring this Christmas! For now enjoy my interview with Hande and enjoy my favourite items from Kismet by Milka, below.
Over the weekend, I headed to the Taste of Melbourne event, in partnership with Electrolux, at Albert Park.
Let’s be real. I love to eat. I can never say no to a food festival, which may explain why I’m on the double digits in weight. Buuuut in saying that, life’s too short for calorie counting, right? You enjoy your weekends, ladies.
Tully Smyth looked amazing on Oaks Day. What a surprise to see her wear my Adam earrings from my Confessions line. Thank you Daniel.
I was delighted when Kerrie Denton, author of My Secret is Your Secret, reached out to me to review her book. After a little Googling, I was interested to find out more and read the book – which I finished in 30 minutes, just sayin’.
Derby Day is the start of the four day race days that make The Melbourne Cup Carnival. I unfortunately can’t attend this year as I am moving into our new home, but to all you ladies who are attending and need some outfit inspiration from a amateur fashion blogger, (moi) you have come to the right place.
