Meet Alex Blythin

I had the pleasure of interviewing the talented Alex Blythin. I came across this gorgeous girl’s Insta page and loved her style and that she is from the UK! I am obsessed with Great Britain. Alex also works for Boohoo.com. I am loving this girls style so make sure you follow her on Instagram and stay up to date with her blog here.

Current trends in the UK?

One of the biggest trends at the moment is definitely 70’s. We’re seeing a lot of suede (which I LOVE), denim, a-line skirts and flares. I don’t think I’m brave enough to rock a flare but I think they do look great styled in the right way.

For those travelling to the UK were should we shop?

The shops I regularly shop in when I’m not shopping online are Topshop and Urban Outfitters. H&M and Monki are favourites for wardrobe basics and staple items. There are so many amazing places to shop in London, especially Carnaby Street and Oxford/Regent Street.

Latest splurge? Or cheap find?

I haven’t actually purchased my splurge yet… but I really want a pair of round metal Ray-Bans! My best cheap find at the moment is a powder highlighter by a brand called MUA cosmetics, which was £3 and it’s as good as so many expensive ones that I have purchased in the past.

How long have you been blogging for?

I have been blogging for around 5 years now. I initially started my blog when I was in university as a place to house my writing. I studied Media and Cultural studies and interned for a few publications so having a blog was a great way to publish my work. It developed into being a personal style blog when I started posting pictures of my daily outfits and I saw a positive uplift in traffic and engagement with my blog. Along with really enjoying it, the fact that people were reading spurred me on to post more content and produce the blog that I have today.

I see you work for BOOHOO #jealous, describe your day to day role with the company?

At Boohoo I am International Social Media Executive, which entails managing external agencies in territories such as Australia, USA, France and Holland. My day to day varies so much, one day I am in spreadsheet zone collating reports and stats, on another I am at a press event or blogger shoot. It is a very dynamic and exciting place to work!
