I love designer everything. I’m proud to say I’ve worked hard for my designer items in my wardrobe, and they are a result of my own hard graft and not a product of the bank of Mummy and Daddy (unfortunately!).
I’m lucky enough to have been gifted items from Chanel, YSL and Louis Vuitton, but let’s be real for a minute. The rest of my items are from Boohoo, Topshop, Zara, Missguided and good old Kmart. Yerp, I love a bit of #KmartStyling!
No lie, everyone has been obsessed with my $15 jeggings. There’s nothing wrong with pairing high end with low end, girls. Even if you see me carrying a $2k handbag, chances are my pants are under $20. I’m as real as they come.
That said, I could only ever dream of owning a Balmain dress. Never in a million years would I think I would have one in my room, yet here I am writing this blog post. Here’s how: Finesse made this happen.
I had an event a couple of weeks ago (the blogger life chose me, right?!) and wanted something designer, obvs. Buuuut I couldn’t afford to purchase a Balmain dress that I would only wear once – cos this girl ain’t gonna be seen in the same thing twice (lol).
Enter, Finesse – a high-end designer rental boutique, hiring out the likes of Givenchy, Valentino, Balmain, and Herve Leger. Basically aaaaallllll the clothing brands I would never be able to buy.
The girls were lovely and sent me a box full of designer dresses. I literally had over $10k of stock in one black box. I won’t lie, I locked my doors on the way home as I was scared someone would jump me in the car, haha. TRUE story! Spoiler alert: they didn’t. Phew.
When I got home, I felt like designer Barbie. There I was, trying on the insane Balmain crepe tuxedo dress and Givenchy midi dress. One word: spectacular.
One problem. They didn’t fit me and I had to send them back. Damn you, carbs. But, the concept of hiring their stunning dresses is great.
For a small hire fee, you can choose from their amazing range of designer dresses – you’ll sure find something perfect for any event. The girls were so lovely from start to finish, and hey, it’s given me the motivation I need to shed a couple of kilos and squeeze myself into one of their gorgeous dresses!
