Food Alert

Over the weekend, I headed to the Taste of Melbourne event, in partnership with Electrolux, at Albert Park.

Let’s be real. I love to eat. I can never say no to a food festival, which may explain why I’m on the double digits in weight. Buuuut in saying that, life’s too short for calorie counting, right? You enjoy your weekends, ladies.

The weather was a little overcast but we attended the night session, as I thought it would be less crowded. There’s nothing worse than waiting 40 mins for a damn shish kebab, am I right?!

So what did I eat and drink?

Movida:

I had my first Movida experience, and ladies, it was so good I had to go back for a second serve! We ate the Pinchitos Morunos (basically a fancy word for lamb skewers with a serve of bread) washed down with some Sangria. #heaven.

Mamasita X Hotel Jesus:

Mamasita is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. I’d go there just for the chargrilled corn cob, so when I see Mamasita at a food festival I am there will bells on! It’s just so tasty, and totally worth all the corn stuck in your teeth. Nothing more attractive, I say!

Gazi:

I love Gazi and lamb – can’t you tell I’m Turkish?! – so was looking forward to a lamb kalamaki but it was sold out. *crys into pita bread* So, we settled for the pita and taramosalata with Tiganites Patates. Think chips with oregano, garlic oil and feta! So good. OPA!

The cider lab:

My partner loves apple cider so he was keen to try a new brand. The royal gala apple got his tick of approval.

After checking out the great produce on show and a lot of tasty samples, I enjoyed a glass of Verve (how fancy of me) to end a wonderful night of eating and drinking.

Would I go back? Absolutely. Keep up to date with Taste of Melbourne here

Thank you to Hot House Media on extending complimentary tickets to attend. All food love my own.
