Derby Day is the start of the four day race days that make The Melbourne Cup Carnival. I unfortunately can’t attend this year as I am moving into our new home, but to all you ladies who are attending and need some outfit inspiration from a amateur fashion blogger, (moi) you have come to the right place.
Derby Day has a pretty strict dress code of Black and White. If you’re in need of a little colour then add a bright shoe or lipstick shade to give your #ootd a little pop. Voila … my Derby Day look.
Dress: I found this amazing dress at Zara in NYC for under $50 and knew it would be perfect for Derby Day. This dress just reminds me of something I would see on the Chanel runway.
Fascinator: My fascinator was custom made a few years back by Melbourne milliner Zorza for around $200. I was inspired by Victoria Beckham’s headpiece she wore to Kate & Wills’ wedding.
Shoes: I picked them up in LA from Call It Spring, they are so comfy so perfect for the races.
Earrings: I’m wearing (forgive me father!) this pair in red from my collection, shop here.
Hair & Makeup: Just did it myself … hehe #glam
I can’t wait to see all your beautiful outfits from the comfort of my Instagram feed and hope you back a winner.
Photographer: Bianca Lamont. I love you girl!
Once again, big thank you to Moonee Valley Racing Club for allowing me to use your beautiful racecourse for my first shoot.
