Boots Laboratories Optiva Skincare

I was asked if I would like to get brighter skin in just two weeks… UMM yes please! Especially during winter, ladies.

In the mornings I am freezing, so I am guilty of putting the heater on high all the way to work or having really hot showers. My last post said I would try and stop this bad habit, but some can’t be broken.

My skin has been feeling quite dry and I look drawn out, especially on those make up free days. My eye bags are horrid, so I was looking forward to this little skin challenge.

I received all my skincare and I was very overwhelmed at how many items I received. 6 in total, that’s a lot of work in the morning, ladies!

I started off with the Skin Balancing Cleanser. It’s actually a cream based cleanser I have never used anything like it. I found the easiest way to use this was to dab a little over my face (like applying a normal moisturiser) and wipe off with a mini face towel or cotton pad. I was amazed at how much make up was coming off my face and neck, even though I washed my face. (Be sure to avoid your eyes, ladies.)

Next thing was the Radiance Refresh Tonic. This, I loved. It was so refreshing on my skin and had a great tightening feel to my face, so it was great in the morning. It’s a toner, ladies, incase you were confused hehe. I applied with a cotton pad to my skin.

I liked to let the product set in my skin for 1-2 minutes before applying the Aqua Capture Serum. A lot of serums I have tried are quite oily, so I would only apply them at night. But this one is cream based which was great. You only need a little. It’s very hydrating and not heavy when applying.

For the day I applied the Daily Protection Cream over my face and neck followed by my makeup. I found the product lightweight – a little goes a long way with this one. Some moisturisers affect my foundation and can leave my skin oily, especially around my T zone. This product did not do that, woo hoo. I really enjoyed the way it made my skin feel, especially on my make up free days.

After my shower in the evenings I would do all of the above but change my Daily Protection Cream to the Nourishing Night Cream, but first I would add the Radiance Boosting Eye Balm. As I mentioned, my eye bags are quite dark and deep which I hate (especially in photos). Usually some eye creams leave a tingle or burning sensation, but this one didn’t which was great.

Back to the Nourishing Night Cream. Definitely my favourite item from the collection. My skin feels so amazing in the morning. I sleep on my face, too, so to feel the product really absorb in my skin was great.

I was really impressed with the size of the products, the simplicity in applying the product how it made my skin feel. Usually when I try skincare it takes at least 4-6 weeks to really see a difference in my skin texture and overall glow.

Challenge completed: I did get an overall brighter, healthier and smoother look to my skin. I am loving my makeup-free glow, too!

I did mention I was overwhelmed with how many products I received but it literally takes me 5-7 minutes in the morning and evenings, which really is nothing, ladies!

I find the price range affordable, especially if you’re young and wanting to start a skincare regime.

The products suit all ages, too, so you and Mum could share if you wanted to cut cost!
