If you have been keeping up with my socials over the last few weeks, you’ll have seen that I have been at a lot of high teas – can you blame me?! Finger sandwiches, scones and free flowing bubbles – that’s got Zerin written all over it. Don’t worry guys, it’s a tough gig but someone’s gotta do it.
When I was asked to attend an afternoon tea at the The Sheraton Melbourne, I was jumping for joy!
The décor at The Sheraton was so classic and elegant. We arrived on level one to the sound of French music – a little taste of my background in Little Collins Street. We were off to a good start.
My guest and I were completely blown away by all the food. When I received the invite I thought we would have a tier of goodies to indulge in; little did I know we would have a whole savoury and sweet buffet to add to my ever-disappearing abs! There was even pizza and a crèpe station!
Being ‘wogs’ we were in food heaven. We kicked things off with a glass of Bollinger, and got stuck in.
The artisan ham, swiss cheese and cucumber finger sandwiches were so perfect. They definitely put my DIY home high tea to shame! The roasted vegetables hit the spot, too. Let’s be honest, I defo went back for seconds. I could have easily gone back for a third serve but that wouldn’t have been very French of me, now would it!?
That feed was shortly followed by another glass of Bollie, and darling, it was dessert time. The mango dome, strawberry mousse cake, peach chamomile panna cotta and passionfruit macarons are a must! Add in the crèpes and churros, and there’s something for every sweet tooth.
The Afternoon Tea Buffet is available weekends from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.
$69 per person with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival
$84 per person with a glass of Champagne Bollinger on arrival
If you’re after something a little more traditional, the Afternoon Tea Stands are available during the week.
Usually when I attend a high tea I am still a little peckish after (real talk), but I love that The Sheraton have gone against the norm and created a new way to high tea.
From the décor, to the music to the amazing food on offer, grab your mum or girlfriends for a Parisian-inspired, chic feed. Book here.
Disclaimer: I was kindly invited to attend A Parisian Affair to provide media coverage on Insincerely Her, but I can assure you – all scone scoffing and crèpe cramming my own. All images my own.
